My sister visited town last month and we enjoyed the most decadent bloody mary's for lunch. Mine had Absolut, medium mix, beef broth, green olive, crispy potato strings, pickle spear, and beef jerky... and that was just the drink!

Oh! Crazy story. Last Sunday Nick and I were woken up at the fire alarm going off in out building. We took our time getting up, thinking it was no big deal. We had to run out of our burning building soon after! We are still not sure what caused the fire, but the basement was on fire and it took 8 fire engines to get it out. Thank goodness no one was hurt and there was no major damage.
We went to our first Nationals baseball game of the season. Baseball is my fav.

Summer is a funny thing. We are finally done with a dreadful heat wave that hit the east coast last week. 12 days in a row with weather over 95 degrees. It was fun for pool partys and staying in to bask in the air conditioning, but it's safe to say that I'm completely over summer and looking ahead to the fall now. My style has really reflected this feeling lately too. Normally in the summer I'm crazy about sun dresses and sandals but not this year. Give me chambray and (faux) leather.

Had a cookout with some family. This is a punch my mom made with fresh watermelon juice, strawberry juice, and mint leaves.
Went to a bonfire party.
